Elberadweg Dresden - Prag
You start your tour at the 800-year-old saxon metropolis Dresden. Your way leads you through the wonderful Elbsandsteingebirge and Bad Schandau. You cross the border of Czechia. Here you cycle from Melnik along the Moldau through many little and pretty villages and through romantic landscapes and vineyards. The route is attractive, but sometimes very adventurous. Your destination is Prag. It is unqiue, full of zest for life, has amazing worth seeing things and an imposing cityscape.
Day 1: individual arrival at Dresden
Welcome to Dresden! Be impressed by the rebuilt Frauenkirche, the Zwinger or the Semperoper.
Day 2: Dresden – Bad Schandau (about 43 km)
Schloss Pillnitz and fort Königstein line your way through the fascinating Elbsandsteingebirge. Your today’s destination is Bad Schandau.
Day 3: Bad Schandau – Usti n. Labem (about 50 km)
First, you cycle through Krippen and Schöna to the border of Czechia. The first czech village Decin has a castle that you should visit. Then you pass the Schloss Groß Priesen and reach your today’s destination Usti nad Labem. This city is situated between hills at the bohemian highlands. Visit the ruins of castle Strekov with its restaurant, terrace and amazing view!
Day 4: Usti n. Labem – Litomerice/Terezin (about 26/28 km)
You reach the hoary village Litomerice which is your today’s destination. You can visit a lot of worth seeing churches. After Litomerice you reach the fortress city Terezin. During the Second World War Terezin was a jewish ghetto and had a concentration camp. Today you can visit the Ghettomuseum and a jewish cemetery.
Day 5: Litomerice/Terezin – Melnik (about 43/41 km)
Halfway you reach Roudnice. Visit the provost church and the mountain Rip. Your today’s destination is Melnik where Moldau and Elbe merge. Visit the little castle which salutes already from far away.
Day 6: Melnik – Prague (about 54 km)
The last lap leads you along the Moldau. Little slopes were reward by relaxing reductions. This is a beautiful way with amazing views. Shortly in front of Prague you pass the Schloss Troja. This building from the 17th century homes a part of the national painting gallery. You cross the Moldau and reach Prague which is your today’s destination and the end of your tour. At the old town many cafés and restaurants lure to take part of the czech way of life.
Day 7: Prag
Use the day to discover Prague! Visit the Hradschin with the Königspalast, walk over the Karlsbrücke or explore the nightlife! Individual departure or extension.
