Elberadweg Hamburg - Dresden Sprint

This tour is ideal for experienced cyclists who search a challenge. Along the Elbe you cycle straight through Germany. You experience the metropolis Hamburg, the 1200-year-old city Magdeburg, Dresden, beautiful towns full of half-timbered houses, UNESCO biosphere reserves and vineyards. You cycle through unique landscapes. The Elbe is one of the rivers that still have their natural course. You cycle on the “Straße der Romanik”, on the “Deutschen Fachwerkstraße” and on the saxon wine street.

Elberadweg Hamburg - Dresden Sprint

Day 1: Individual arrival at Hamburg
Discover Hamburg on a city tour or by boat. Then you can see the historic warehouse city. Do you want to go to a musical in the evening? Let us help you.

Day 2: Hamburg – Hitzacker (about 110 km)
You cycle on the Elbdeich that become increasingly flat through the Luneburg Heath. You have to face the one and only hills on your tour. Hitzacker is your today’s destination. Here you can find many half-timbered houses.

Day 3: Hitzacker – Wittenberge (about 70 km)
You cycle along the Elbe to Dömitz that is situated at the estuary of the Elde-channel. Then you reach Schnackenburg and Wahrenberg. These villages are eldorados for friends of the nature. Your today’s destination is Wittenberge which is the largest city in the Prignitz.

Day 4: Wittenberge – Tangermünde (about 92 km)
Today you cycle through the village of the storks called Rühstädt. Then you cycle through Havelberg and reach your today’s destination Tangermünde. The imperial city has many well maintained houses from the 17th and 18th century.

Day 5: Tangermünde – Magdeburg (about 68 km)
You pass Hohenwarthe and Europe´s longest through bridge. Through the Herrenkrugpark you reach your today’s destination Magdeburg. It has a very varied cityscape.

Day 6: Magdeburg – Dessau (about 80 km)
You cycle through the nature reserve Kreuzhorst to Pechau which is an award-winning village and to Pretzien with its weir. At Brambach you can make a break at the Elbterraces. Your today’s destination is Dessau.

Day 7: Dessau – Torgau (about 110 km)
You cycle through unique landscapes to Coswig. There you have to take the ferry to get on the other shore. Then you cycle through Elster and Dommitzsch to Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Your today’s destination is Torgau. This city has over 1000 years full of history.

Day 8: Torgau – Dresden (about 116 km)
Your last lap leads you to Strehla, Riesa and Meißen which is popular for its procelain. Then you cycle through the Karl-May-city Radebeul and reach Dresden. This is your today’s destination and end of your tour.
