Elberadweg Hamburg - Dresden
This tour connects the three most important cities at the Elbe – Hamburg, Magdeburg and Dresden. You cycle crosswise Germany from the north to the south and can enjoy along the Elbe different landscapes and ways of life. Go to a musical at Hamburg and see world history at Magdeburg and have a look at very famous paintings at Dresden. Enjoy the amazing river landscape! You will see many beatiful places on your tour: wonderful half-timbered houses in the north, the UNESCO biosphere reserve “Flusslandschaft Elbe”, the cradle of reformation at Lutherstadt Wittenberg and many wine-growing-areas shortly in front of Dresden.
Day 1: Individual arrival at Hamburg

Day 2: Hamburg – Lauenburg (about 55 km)
You cycle on the Elbdeich to Geesthacht. Your today’s destination is the fascinating city Lauenburg with its half-timbered houses.
Day 3: Lauenburg – Hitzacker (about 55 km)
Primarily, you pass Bleckede. It is a little town on the “Storchenstraße”. Your today’s destination is Hitzacker.
Day 4: Hitzacker – Wittenberge (about 70 km)
You cycle to Dömitz which is situated at the estuary of the Elde-channel. Then you cycle to Wahrenberg which is an eldorado for friends of the nature and bird friends. Your today’s destination is Wittenberge in the Prignitz.
Day 5: Wittenberge – Havelberg (about 38 km)
Enjoy the silence and wide of the landscape. Your today’s destination is Havelberg with its stately cathedral made of red brick.
Day 6: Havelberg – Tangermünde (about 54 km)
A few kilometres in front of Werben you have to take the ferry to get on the other shore. Your today’s destination is Tangermünde. The imperial city is one of the jewels of the Altmark because of the picturesque old town core.
Day 7: Tangermünde – Magdeburg (about 68 km)
Today you cycle past Hohenwarthe and Europe´s longest through bridge. Your today’s destination is Magdeburg. It is the heart of the fascinating “Straße der Romanik”.
Day 8: Magdeburg – Schönebeck/Barby (about 25 km)
After the Rotehornpark you cycle through the beautiful nature reserve Kreuzhorst on the Elbdamm. Your today’s destination is the salt city Schönebeck.
Day 9: Schönebeck/Barby – Dessau (about 55 km)
You cycle through the biosphere reserve “Mittlere Elbe” with its largest coherently floodplain forest complex in Central Europe. Your today’s destination is Dessau.
Day 10: Dessau – Lutherstadt Wittenberg (about 45 km)
Through the garden area of Wörlitz you cycle to your today’s destination Lutherstadt Wittenberg. It is protected by the UNESCO and the cradle of reformation in Germany.
Day 11: Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Torgau (about 65 km)
Today you cycle through unique landscapes. Your today’s destination is Torgau.
Day 12: Torgau – Riesa (about 48 km)
You follow the Elbe and cycle through a lot of little villages. Your today’s destination is Riesa.
Day 13: Riesa- Meißen (about 28 km)
Today you can expect a varied landscape with friendly wineries. The you reach your today’s destination Meißen which is popular for its porcelain.
Day 14: Meißen – Dresden (about 40 km)
You cycle through the Karl-May-city Radebeul to Dresden where your tour ends. Individual departure or extension.
